Learn to Be Self- Confident

Learn to Be Self- Confident

Many of us are not satisfied with ourselves, with some particular features of our character or the results of our own deeds. Psychologists refer to such phenomenon as low self esteem. So, why don't we value ourselves? First of all our self esteem depends on how other people perceive us. We are inclined to base our self esteem on other people's opinions. It is especially typical of children. Little children are not able to analyze their activity and their confidence depends on adults' estimation of their behavior. Besides during all our lives we always compare the image of our ideal "ego "with our real "ego". And if our real "I "is too far form the ideal our self esteem suffers from it. But in most cases thee are no reasons for that, as our ideal image may be too perfect and unreal.

People with low self esteem do not hope for success in their activities and they are more likely to act, just trying to escape from our failures. And even when they attain positive results, they attribute their small victories to external factors (the task was too easy; it was just luck). And the feeling of discontent with themselves is growing dramatically. It is a kind of vicious circle: people cannot achieve success, because they are dissatisfied with themselves and on the other hand, they are dissatisfied with themselves because they have never managed to succeed. We should remember that every success starts with your self confidence, with the belief that you will achieve what you intend to do.

To improve your self confidence I'll share an efficient exercise with you. You are expected to make a list of positive features of your character (not less than forty). I know that it is not that easy. But you are not limited for time and you may write when you wish to. Once the list is completed, you are to enrich it with new strong points of your nature every day. Soon, you will see that such a person as described in the list surely deserves respect and you will like him/her.

How to get an advanced Spyware remover without paying a cent

How to get an advanced Spyware remover without paying a cent

Spyware is a broad group of harmful software programs that can infect your computer and transmit information about you back to its owner. To avoid being infected by Spyware, it is necessary to install a good Anti-Spyware program that will detect and remove Spyware from your computer. A good Anti-Spyware program should also be capable of alerting you when a Spyware program tries to infect your computer. Today, there are a lot of free Spyware remover programs available online. Many of them are easy to download, install and manage, but their quality will vary so it is important that you look around and compare different free spyware remover programs before you make up your mind. You can also take advantage of the fact that they are free, and try several programs on your computer before you decide to stick with one of them. As of 2005, spyware is chiefly a problem for computer users that are running any of the Microsoft Windows operating systems. There are however a few spyware programs in the form of worms that are capable of infecting Linux and other Unix platforms. Installing a free spyware remover is therefore advisable regardless of which operating system you are using.

The very first free spyware remover was called OptOut and was created in 2000 by Steve Gibson of Gibson Research. Spyware had then been a problem for Internet users for several years. The first known use of the term "spyware" is from 1995, when a poster in Usenet made fun of Microsoft's business model. In the beginning, spyware was a term used for all types of espionage equipment, including tiny cameras for microfilming and similar. In 1999, the term spyware was used in a press release for new software from Zone Labs: the Zone Alarm Person Firewall. In the press release, the term spyware was specifically used for malicious software programs that send information back from an infected computer to the spyware owner. Today, the term spyware is rarely used for espionage cameras or other types of off-line equipment. The same year a very popular freeware, a computer game called Elf Bowling, began to spread among the Internet users. Eventually, the users found out that Elf Bowling included Adware, and that information about the players was sent back to the creator of the game, a company called Nsoft.

Today, many programmers and companies have created their own free spyware remover programs. It is very common that a free spyware remover can be upgraded to a more advanced version for a fee. As mentioned above, Steve Gibson created the first free spyware remover - OptOut. He was to be followed by free spyware remover programs from Lavasoft, the Ad-Aware spyware remover, and from Patrick Kolla - the Spybot Search & Destroy. Later SpySweeper from Webroot become one of the most popular free spyware remover programs. Naturally, Microsoft also developed their own free spyware remover. They bought the GIANT Anti-Spyware software and changed it into Windows AntiSpyware. The GIANT Anti-Spyware software is also licensed to Sunbelt Software and used in their free spyware remover program CounterSpy. Companies such as McAfee, Sophos and Symantec are also offering free spyware remover programs as a part of their anti-virus programs.

ESL Jobs - An opportunity to teach people English

ESL Jobs - An opportunity to teach people English

"Essentially, English is a dominant language and spoken as a major medium of communication in most countries of the world. In fact, on a summary of approximately 150 odd countries, only 3-4 countries have individuals who do not speak or write English that fluently. ESL Jobs is one such opportunity for qualified professionals in the domain of teaching and education. Basically, ESL Jobs ensures that professionals across the world trained in the field of education teach people on how to read and write English.

China is one of the countries that does not follow English all that well. In fact, if I had to go by reports from travelers to China, they tell me that it is a must for people to know Mandarin (China's local dialect) well. Landing one of the ESL Jobs in China is seen as being a prestigious offer. One of the main reasons for this is that China is willing to adapt itself to the global demands of trade. With China emerging as a hot destination for the West to source materials from, ESL Jobs China is a set of words that is fast catching demand.

What is it in for a professional applying for ESL Jobs in China?

One of the biggest benefits of working in China is that it is pressed with a good infrastructure for the professionals to live in. Assuming that most of the opportunities advertised in website are permanent full-time positions, you would be spending a part of your life in locales surrounding the Hongkong, Taiwan etc. They say that in China, you work hard and you get recognized. In terms of imparting English skills, you will really have to work hard.

How popular is English in China?

The need to advertise ESL Jobs in China will be considered waste if I shall say that there is no requirement for teachers. English is pretty much on the rise in terms of people who want to learn English. Thus, apart from Mainland China like Beijing, Shanghai you would also note that there are a lot of ESL Jobs in China cities like Guangzhou, Cheng du etc. The last two cities are almost near the sea and have many villages surrounding them.

ESL Jobs is one of the most popular jobs in China. It is with a noble cause. Though, qualified professionals and teachers in China get paid well (Approx 7000-8000 yen), it is the challenge of teaching people on reading and writing English. When you consider that most of these are especially unacquainted with English, your challenges get doubled. It is this aspect that forces ESL Jobs in China to get ultimate precedence over others in China."

You want to protect your home, your possessions, and your family. Below are five of the most frequently asked questions about home owner insurance.

1. As a home owner, am I required to have insurance? Yes, in most cases, especially if you have a lender. It's also wise to look into insurance if you are in the process of constructing your home, and even renting your home to someone else.

2. What types of coverage does home owner insurance provide? Two types-casualty, which covers the home and contents, and liability, which covers anyone who is injured on your property. With both types the amount of coverage depends on the policy.

3. Will the replacement cost be the same as the sale price of my home? No. The replacement cost will cover the amount needed to replace the structure and/or contents. Replacement cost is usually calculated based on the individual policy's formula. It's wise to take inventory and photographs of your home and contents.

Scuba Diving Travel

Scuba Diving Travel

Scuba diving travel can be one of the most enjoyable vacations you ever take. With thousands of destinations to choose from, there is always a destination that is jam packed full of activities for both above and below the water.

Package destinations are the best choice for those just starting out. You can have the air fare, accommodations and diving all included, planned and all you have to do is pay a one time fee. Some of these are all inclusive, which means all your meals and beverages are included as well, which can limit your dining options a little but can save you're a lot of cash. The biggest benefit of taking a total scuba diving travel package is the friends that you meet. These packages are usually filled with individuals like you that enjoy the sport among other common interests. Besides, diving with a group is always much more fun then diving alone.

If traveling far distances is not for you then most anywhere you live there are usually interesting diving locations. By taking your boat on your getaway, you can hit the water any time you wish and stay on the water as long as you and your family wish. You might want to take some friends along so that you can dive as a group and still have someone in the boat timing the dive to ensure safety. If your boat is large enough and has sufficient sleeping accommodation for the group, you can even stay aboard the vessel and simply pay dockage fees.

If your local destinations are not interesting enough but you prefer a more private scuba diving vacation, then you can always work with your travel agent to find those hidden away destinations that do not have packages available. There are plenty of charter dive boats that you could reserve in many dive vacation spots around the world. The beauty of renting a charter is you get someone that knows the waters and has a crew that can help in case an emergency situation happens.

The reality is that the options for scuba diving travel are for the most part limitless. Just remember to have fun planning your scuba diving holiday and even more fun taking it.

The importance of customer support in hosting

The importance of customer support in hosting

So why is customer support all that important in a hosting service? Simple! Imagine your self working hard on a site and you finally get a quite popular one with an impressive amount of daily visitors. Let's say it's a very popular forum. And all of a sudden system gets crash. So you have to come up with silly reasons to tell to the visitors, why is the site down and why can't they access their accounts. Most importantly you don't know if it's permanent or is it just some temporary down time. And believe me, by the experience that I have, when that happens you are in quite a pickle. All of that can be avoided if you have customer service. They will tell you what is wrong, when will the server be up again etc.

So how do I find a hosting service with customer service?

Well just search the web for a bit. Now a day almost every hosting website has that already in the cheapest hosting package. After all you wouldn't want to be stranded all alone in a situation like that. Because of such technological advancement and lots of researches, there are many sites and companies, which promise you everything. The customer service can even serve you like a critic. If the company doesn't provide it to all of the packages, than that means it's not a too good company, now is it? How can they host servers for people and sites if they can't even manage some customer service and support?

Usually sites with a lot of money and a big capital have such things installed because the consulting staff is not cheap at all, as a result to that we can conclude that companies with customer support care about their clients. The consulting staff is paid like normal workers, even more if they have good knowledge and that's how you know that you won't be left down. So what does it cost you to search the web for a new and better service with some consulting involved in it, having help when you need it and finding a good hosting company just for you?

But don't be fooled. All customer services aren't all that good. A quick response and resolution time of the crew is a must when talking about quality. When you talk to the staff they have to make you feel good, and can communicate fast, clear and without complications.

Still don't understand the benefits of the whole thing?

Think of it in this way. The Customer service is actually like a hand that guides you, so you can't actually make mistakes. The only mistake that you can do is at the very beginning. That is choosing a wrong hosting service or a free package, that doesn't include the support. So just don't be lazy and search for a better company, a company with pizzazz, a company WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE that won't let you down.

Grill Burner Comparison: Cross Sections

Grill Burner Comparison: Cross Sections

All stainless steel burners are not created equal. When comparing burner systems, there are a few key points to look for. Most manufacturers use stainless steel sheet metal to make their burner systems. The downside of sheet metal burners is that they are prone to a process called burn-through. The manufacturer's warranty covers sheet metal burners against rust-through, but does not cover against burn through. To combat burn through, select manufacturers use CAST stainless steel burners. The warranty on these burners does cover burn-through as well as rust-through, twisting, warping and any other problems.

Compared side by side it is plain to see by our photos at Gas Grills Now, that where a sheet metal burner is not as thick as a U.S. quarter, a cast stainless steel burner is a full ¼ INCH thick. Along with being thicker, note the placement of the burner ports on the side of the burner. On the sheet metal burners, the ports are exposed to grease drippings, and food particles, which can clog the ports and speed up the burn-through process. The cast burner is designed with a protective ridge, so that drippings cannot contact the ports.

There are several choices offered to the consumer: Cast stainless steel, Tube stainless steel, Sheet stainless steel, porcelain, cast iron and chrome burners.

* Stainless Steel: Sheet Metal burners are the least expensive. They are mainly used on grills under $800. A tube burner is better than sheet metal, but is still very thin compared to cast. The tube burner is a great place for high end grill manufactures to cut costs. They are not even as thick as a quarter. As far as I know, all tube burners do not cover burn through.

Cast Stainless Steel is the best. Look at the burner pictures and you will see that the cast is 1/4 inch thick.

Warranty covers burn through!

* Cast Iron: Cast-iron conducts heat better which makes it the preferred cooking surface for many cooks. To protect against the natural rusting process, cast-iron cooking grids have a porcelain finish which requires special maintenance.

* Porcelain: Porcelain enamel is essentially a highly durable glass which, with coloring oxides and other inorganic materials, is fused to metal at extremely high temperatures. Most grids are made of steel rods; some are coated with porcelain to make them rust resistant and easier to clean.

* Chrome: Chromium is a silver-gray, lustrous, brittle, hard metal that can be highly polished. It does Not tarnish in air, but burns when heated, forming the green chromic oxide. It is used in plating other metals because of its hardness and non-tarnishing properties. In alloys with other metals it contributes hardness, strength, and heat resistance. This is quicker to burn through. It takes about 1 to 2 years.

The Basics of Blogging and Web Site Creation - Part Two: Introduction To Keywords

The Basics of Blogging and Web Site Creation - Part Two: Introduction To Keywords

Okay so now we know content is king. And of course since we are creating our own blogs, (remember blogs is short slang for Weblogs - which is what their "formal and official" name is), most of our information is going to be "unique" and "Original". Yet every now and then, since we are only human, and since we simply cannot "create" more and more information, we will copy information from other web sites. That is cool. There is no problem with that, UNLESS, you decide that "copying" and/or "linking" is simply better and forego writing anything.

Now let me make this clear. If you are offering a service to people, where your main business is to offer out links to other places where people can get information, in other words you are a repository where people come to get links, because you already did all the research - that is fine. Because what you will loose in content, you will make up in "eyeballs" and "hits". Remember the end result of good search engine listings is just that. MORE HITS - MORE EYEBALLS - MORE PEOPLE VISITING. And content is not the only parameter an Search Engine looks at. Not by a long shot.

This is a critical point to keep in mind. Everything we will talk about, every method, from content to email to lists to whatever, (hehe my most unfavorite word in the English language pops in - Whatever - see my post on that word in my blog), has but one goal in mind. To consistently and constantly increase and build your website "hits". To make sure you have an ever-growing "fan" club "motivated" because of the service you are offering, to come back. So please differentiate between the end goal and the methods. Content (discussed in our first article) is a method towards the goal of getting listed in a good position on a search engine, and the goal is to have people use and come to your web site or blog, and create a "buzz" about it. (We will talk about this much later in our series.)

Let us go back to content for a moment. Here we are talking about something that all writers know about and are familiar with. Text, words, phrases. Original, unique text.

So in order to continue on our own fairly logical path, we will now concentrate on the "text" and what has to be in it. Which brings us to the subject of "keywords". Before explaining just what these are and either their importance or total invalidity and worthlessness these days, (and this is up for debate) let us define keywords more carefully.

If you have a website selling hair beauty aids, you will want to sell your material writing content around what you are selling. Obviously if you write something about the difference between different models of dishwashers, this is not going to relate to the "subject matter" and content of your site. So you will write articles around your hair supplies. You will write articles on good hair care, on how to dye your hair, how to get rid of split-ends, how often to shampoo etc. etc.

Our magic hair website is called "Hair Is Not Forever", and it is at www.hairisnotforever.com (I have no clue if such a site exists so please don't hit that link!) But this is our site for now and we will keep it as we go along. hairisnotforever also has a blog. This blog we will call "SilkyFairHair" and we will put it, for the sake of our example in blogger.com under the name of the proprietor who is aptly named Mr. Nor Hair. So now we have as follows:

1. Web Site - Hair Forever @ www.hairisnotforever.com
2. Blog - SilkyFairHair @ http://norhair.bl.com (this URL is fictional)

These names ARE important and so are the URL's. (URL stands for Universal Resource Locater). So keep them in mind as we go along through these articles especially when I get to the article on the importance of finding the right name.

So Mr. Nor Hair and his wife, Mrs. Purple Hair work together. They create the site, get all the necessary stuff to sell something on it, write a couple of articles about hair and sit back and wait for the people to come beating their "virtual" door down. Well as we say in Hebrew, "Boker Tov" (which literally means "Good Morning"), or as you say in English, "Knock. Knock. Good Morning! Anyone Home?"

Okay the Hair couple know about keywords. So they create articles in which EVERY sentence has the word hair in it (or balding). But hair is the name of the game. They make sure their content is original, and once they have written two HTML pages of hair articles, strategically placed by their cousin the graphic artist (who is bald) around the advertisements for hair products and now they think they are done!

Woah! Not by a LONG SHOT! And here is where it gets depressing for the uninitiated and non-dedicated people.

Let us deal with the "keyword" issue.
Keywords are like indices or if you wish, categories. A keyword is something that the search engine will look for and validate (in our day), to use as one of the parameters as to how to list your site.<

The keywords we refer to are in two distinct and totally different places. The first in the page header of the site.
in what is known as the section for "meta" tags. We will deal with meta tags in a different article, however let us just say these are the keywords most search engine look for (with their "bots") when visiting your site.
An example meta tag for keywords on our site may look like this:

Again in our article(s) on meta tags we will discuss these keywords, and meta tags, but for now take it as a given these are some of the keywords that will be in the meta tag.

When the Search Engine technology first became popular and meta tags were implemented, the keywords tag was critical. Search Engines looked at the keywords in the meta tag and assumed that was what the site was about and listed the site under those keywords. This was caught on to immediately, and humans being the crafty devils they are, began listing keywords that had nothing to do with their sites in order to drive traffic to the site. (Remember - the end result is the oh-so-important one: Hits & Eyeballs)

So porn sites especially, adopting this as yet another "fool the engine" technique, would put keywords like "hair", "technology" etc. into their meta tags, and give the site an innocuous name and voila, more traffic.

So in the never-ending battle Search Engines caught on, and did a few things. They deprecated the importance of the keywords in the meta tags according to their algorithms, UNLESS the content on the site actually did match the keywords. Of course, this was not enough as porn sites will put "real" content around their stuff. I will give you a REAL example which I find funny, but it is very serious.

In one of my posts on my blog, you can see my bio which is picked up by search engines. The other day I received an email from an old flame of mine saying "I freaked out. I googled you, under Ted Gross Writer, and you are connected with a site about tushy's!" So I go and Google it, and sure enough in like the fifth position is this: "Ted Gross's Unofficial Bio - The Real Version by Tushy" and of course I click and get led to another site (no url here as I do not want to publicize that site for obvious reasons) and I come to a porn site which ripped off, out of all the content on the internet, MY profile to place around their porn adverts. UGH! But you see that is how crafty people are!

(Here we are not going to talk about "splogs" - meaning "spam blogs" yet. But keep it in mind.)

Okay now what happens - not in theory but in practice.

Two scenarios:
1. You have keywords in your meta tag (and you should have them!) The little Search Engine "bot" (that is a software program whose job it is to travel around the Internet, never sleeps and never eats and gets into all those porn sites too!, and picks up information on ALL sites so the information can be categorized), comes to our site of hairisnotforever and reads the keywords on the page. Then this little bot makes a snapshot of the web page. Then the algorithms take over and match the keywords in the meta tags to the text and stuff on your site. (Remember Search Engines don't "see", they are NOT visual (males are visually oriented not Search Engines!) so graphics are not taken into account unless you use the alt tag.) The algorithms get more and more sophisticated as time goes on and they look for content, keywords, phrases etc. (Remember original content!)

2. You have no keywords in your meta tag so the engine just looks at your content.

So our happy couple figures okay lets put the word hair say, in every sentence at least three times. NO! Don't do that. Overuse of a keyword is a red-flag to a Search Engine and you will be penalized for it! It should be used and used frequently, but NOT overused.

Now when you Google for hair products using the word "balding", the Search Engine has the keyword, and based upon a million parameters decides what position for that specific keyword, hairisnotforever will have, and feeds it out.

So our couple figures what the hell. We will also sell mascara, and they put in a picture advert and the word mascara in their keywords, without having any content for it. Well then www.hairisnotforever.com will probably be listed as the last of the last of the last for anyone looking for "mascara".
So for this lesson the formula is: "Content+Keywords in the content+Keywords in Meta tag."

Change A Simple Stress Habit, Loose Weight

Change A Simple Stress Habit, Loose Weight

When you put yourself on a diet you may be setting yourself up for failure from the start.

What!!?

It's true. Diets are stressful. Stress causes hormones to be released that start a whole chain reaction of eating issues for a lot of people. This is why weight loss with hypnosis is so
powerful: change your behavior and your weight will begin to melt off you.

Under stress, many people eat for relief, which, unfortunately, lasts only as long as the last bite. The problems will suddenly reappear. The reality is, they never went away. The inevitable feelings of being a failure set in. Not only didn't you solve your problems, you created a new one, right there around your waist.

The solution?

Find tools besides a fork to attack emotional angst. In the time it takes to forage for your favorite quick-fix food, you can take steps to break the cycle, beat stress, eliminate emotional eating and yes, finally drop that excess weight for good without even trying.

Food cravings, especially for emotional eaters, mean you want something else. It could be creative stimulation, companionship, or more satisfaction in life. What are your eating triggers? Boredom, frustration, and loneliness? Once you figure out what the real issue is youhave a great chance to change the behavior. Here's how to figure it out and "feed" your real issue.

1. Keep a food journal.<

Every time you reach for food, write down what you eat and how you were feeling. Patterns will emerge. Once you recognize the pattern you are on a path to start to break it.

2. Shop for some new "stimulants."
Do you eat when you're bored? Time to make a new "grocery" list: buy inexpensive, accessible things such as books, CDs, and tapes or DVDs of favorite films that provide the emotional lift you're seeking from food. Keep them handy, and turn to them when you're down.

3. Call your best friend.
Do you eat to escape painful feelings? Make a human connection instead of eating. Call someonewho makes you feel good. someone who makes you feel good.

4. Create new habits.
Find a hobby. When you're engrossed in something you love, you forget all about eating, especially if you're active. Falling in love with an activity like walking or bicycling is even better.

5. Head toward your dreams.
Moving towards goals, one little step at a time is satisfying. With taking a simple, small step forward the feelings of empowerment and accomplishment provide a heady satisfaction that begins a cycle of satisfaction and for many, satisfaction without food.

6. Find new rewards.
Like most people, you probably eat to celebrate happiness too. Find new, affordable rewards such as earrings or tickets to a play or movie.

Signs That Your Home Computer Is Infected by Spyware or Adware

Signs That Your Home Computer Is Infected by Spyware or Adware

There are a number of indicators you can watch for which will suggest that your computer has been infected by spyware or adware. Please note that some of the symptoms listed below are not unique to just a spyware or an adware infection.

1) PC Performance – Both Spyware and adware consume your PC's resource like computer memory. A bad spyware infection could dramatically slow your computer's performance including causing your system's to become increasingly unstable. Spyware also can affect your internet connection speed as it takes up bandwidth to communicate information back to its creator.

2) Pop up Ads – It is highly likely that your computer is infected by Adware if you notice more pop up ads appearing than usual. In some cases pop ads start appearing on the desktop even if you have not opened a web browser. Alternatively, search results may appear in a pop up or another browser window relative to the website you are visiting or keyword term you have typed into a search engine.

3) Browser Toolbars – These programs are commonly bundled with free software which the publisher often describes as "advertiser supported." The toolbar then feeds adverts based on the website you visit. They are usually very difficult to uninstall. "180 Search Assistant" and "Huntbar" are example programs.

4) Browser Settings – Your internet favourites or bookmarks and start page are two main settings which are targeted by spyware authors. Web sites are inserted into your list of internet favourites in the hope that you will visit them. Browser hijackers change the start page which is visited when the browser loads. Any unexpected change to your start page is a sign of infection.<

5) Start Up Programs – Some spyware variants will try to add themselves to your Windows start up program list. If you boot up time becomes noticeably slower then review your program start up list to check for applications you are not familiar with and remove them. This program list can be review using the "MS Config" option from the Windows XP Run command.

6) Software Failure – A spyware infection can cause some of your programs to crash or stop working. In particular watch if your Internet Explorer browser refuses to work all of a sudden.

7) Hosts File Changes – The Hosts File is a Windows file that maps the numerical IP Address to the Host Name very much like the address book on your cell phone "maps" your friend's name to their telephone number. Some spyware programs can change these setting so that when you type in "www.yahoo.com" for example you are re-directed the spyware author's website.

Save Money - Use Projector Bulbs

Save Money - Use Projector Bulbs

Halogen lights have become popular as an overhead projector light. These projector bulbs provide high-intensity light that gives the presentation better lighting and dimming that ensure positive image precision. Here are the characteristics of the projector bulbs that you should consider in purchasing one. The projector bulb comes in many design, brand names, model, wattage and voltage. To identify whether the projector bulbs would fit your projector equipment, make sure learn your projector bulbs before purchasing. These bulbs have been used in:

- Business presentations
- School reporting
- Home-based cinema

1. Type and Shape

Check the base and note its type and shape. Make sure you know what the brand and model number of the projector bulbs for your projector - they should be listed in the user manual. If you happen to have lost your user manual, try the company website - they likely offer for download the user manuals that you can print off. This would ensure you don't go to the store and end up coming back with an incompatable bulb. If you are not aware of the brand, describe the shape of the projector bulbs base to the attendant at the light store. You could specify by telling the assistant about the shape of the bulb itself.

2. Size Matters

The size of the glass bulb is important. Basically, projector bulbs differ in the sizes of the bulbs' envelope or casing. The size of the projector bulbs would distinguish your bulb purchase if it is a foreign brand, if your projector is used in movie projectors or for slide show projector alone.

3. Knowing Is Half The Battle

The tungsten filament is a wire that reacts to the heat that occurs when the lamp is turned on. The shape of the filament would help you ask for the exact model or projector bulbs. Since each model makes use of varieties of wires and places the wire in different locations on the bulb, it would be easier for you to break down your choices for your projector bulbs' purchase

4. The voltage and wattage

These items determine the overall output of the projector bulbs. The projector bulb that gives out brighter light does not necessarily mean that the wattage is higher than the bulb that produces a dimmer light. Make sure that you are aware of the consuming voltage and wattage of your projector bulbs.

Note:

All of the bulbs that are purchased for projectors are coded into three letters (e.g. ELH, DEK). These letters are assigned to all models that have the same filament reactivity, wattage and voltage. Since the material of the glass base does not have anything to do with the codes, you could choose your own style and could still purchase the exact bulb needed. These codes have no connection with the brand of the projector bulbs. This is done because choosing the perfect projector bulbs is vital in the handling of the projector, the bulb manufacturers follow a coding for their costumers to purchase easily and avoid confusion. Knowing this three letter code would be an advantage for you and the assistant at the store.

- It is advisable to purchase a lower-powered projector bulb
- Bulbs last up to 2,000 to 4,000 hours, depending on the usage amount of the projector
- Projector bulbs are made up of halogen lights

Unique Gift Certificates! Giving Gifts Online Is Easy, Convenient, And Fun

Unique Gift Certificates! Giving Gifts Online Is Easy, Convenient, And Fun

When it comes to shopping for unique gift ideas online, there is a new phenomenon growing every year and if you guessed unique gift certificates as an option, you were correct!

Why are so many online stores experiencing a dramatic growth in gift certificate sales via the Internet? The answer is simple! We live in a global village that is allowing us to access some of the hottest worldwide stores online, and we don't have to ever leave the comforts of our home.

In a matter of minutes you can be shopping in Paris for the hottest fashions, and with a few clicks of the mouse you're shopping in LA for custom made surfboards, or in Boston for the freshest seafood on this planet.

Gift Certificates Online Offer Great Features And Valuable Benefits!

Gift certificates online have many features and benefits, and whether you're the one purchasing them for your family and friends, or the recipient on the receiving end, you just can't go wrong when you give your recipients the opportunity to choose their very own gift.

When you shop with online stores, you will notice they can offer you more unique gift ideas, and can be a little more flexible in offering the hard-to-find products. With the easy delivery of a gift certificate directly to your recipient's home, whether by regular post or email, they can access and redeem their unique certificates online, or in-store for products they will really enjoy.

People Live Busy Lives, And They Just Don't Have The Extra Time To Shop

When you're extremely busy and just don't have the time to shop the malls, going on your computer and searching for gift ideas is extremely convenient. Add the benefits of many top retail stores and unique small stores that provide you quick access to limitless inventory of their products from electronics to gourmet gift baskets, and you can easily avoid the mall crowds and limited selection.

During Easter, Christmas and for many housewarming parties & weddings, you may not know exactly what to buy your family members or friends, and jumping from store to store is not an option for you! It's getting harder these days to find that special gift that no one else has thought of getting, and when you come to that crossroad in your shopping plan, a special occasion certificate can really get you out of a messy gift giving situation.

When you provide your recipients with a gift of choice with either an in-store gift card or e-certificate, they can buy whatever their heart desires, and when you add them to a nice gift basket, or flower arrangement, it makes your gift that more personal and much appreciated.

The Benefits of Internet Security on the Education Front

The Benefits of Internet Security on the Education Front

Online Courses Bring Advantages and Security Threats

A college education is mandatory in today's job market. Because of this, many workers find themselves pursuing a higher education while they are employed. One way colleges are making access to education more convenient for workers is by offering a wide range of their curriculum via online courses. This growing trend brings with it all the advantages and disadvantages associated with Internet connectivity.

One of the main advantages to students is easy access to their coursework at all hours of the day and night. In fact, online classes can usually accommodate any work schedule. The ease of communication with the instructor is another reason online courses are so popular. Still another important advantage is that online courses can be accessed easily from any public commuter with an Internet connection, like those you might find at universities or in public libraries.

Colleges and universities support this trend toward online classes because they can attract more students and increase revenue without incurring the overhead associated with a classroom full of students.

However, as with any trend, there is a downside to this rapid increase in online education. Chief among the challenges institutions face is the need to defend against Internet-based threats. These threats are inherent in Web access and include instant messaging and peer-to-peer file sharing, spyware and phishing attacks, a wide-range of objectionable Web content and human nature itself.

MySpace.com

Examples of human corruption as a source of Internet-based threats are everywhere. The Internet is rife with everything from the criminality of hacking and phishing attacks to the irritation of surreptitious spyware agents. The most dangerous threat is from predators who often target young people, the very ones who are likely using computers at schools and libraries. In a recent scandal involving MySpace.com, a predator was tracking the movements of teenaged girls via their myspace.com postings. Predators on the Internet have been present since the beginning of Internet technology. They fish in chat rooms, message boards and e-mail. Even if the unsuspecting public is aware of the dangers posed by predators, the need for Internet security is essential in any strategy for defending against Web-based threats. This becomes even more critical when an educational site is vulnerable to attack.

Colleges provide their own websites, message boards, blogs and email addresses. When a phisher or hacker or a predator with hacking skills is able to breach the unsecured network of a college, it leaves more than just intellectual property open for perusal. And if external threats to the students and the network were not enough, a system administrator at a college also has to deal with the actions of the students as well.<

The Hazards of Downloading

Computer access in the college library is very common even on the smallest of community college campuses. Students unaware of security threats can easily surf a number of questionable websites, downloading objectionable material and leaving a network vulnerable by visiting a chat room or opening an instant message with a skillful hacker on the other end.

Through any of these means an unprotected network can be at risk for backdoor programs, viruses and hackers. Defending against these threats is important for network security, student safety and the college's reputation. An unsecured network is easy prey for an experienced hacker and the last thing a college can afford is to have a student's personal information or worse, financial information compromised.

Reputation and Integrity

Colleges rely on their reputations and integrity to distinguish their institutions in a crowded field. Their reputation is comprised of many elements including student success rates and faculty expertise. The integrity of a college's network security can directly impact student enrollment because any decline in a school's good reputation can spread like wildfire. Schools with diminished reputations can see enrollment fall off as parents and students alike find other schools with better reputations.

This situation doesn't just affect colleges, it also applies to local schools and school districts where networks, computers in classroom and wireless connections are becoming more common. Even more compelling, protecting young children is more critical for schools than even their reputations.

Utilizing proper filtering hardware and software can protect the integrity of the educational institution as well as their security and by extension, the security of the students. Filtering hardware can prevent students from accessing unsafe websites or questionable ones. It can prevent downloading of materials, backdoor programs and worms.

The Obvious Solution

With the use of filtering hardware, schools can protect ports into their network exploited by instant messaging programs and more. When it comes right down to it, educational institutions are negligent if they do not employ the right network security. With so many potential problems waiting to prey on the unsuspecting and unsecured network, filtering hardware is the obvious answer.

Roadside Eye-Catchers Drive Moterists To Distraction

Roadside Eye-Catchers Drive Moterists To Distraction

UK drivers are putting themselves at risk because they struggle to keep their eyes on the road.

Roadside objects such as billboards, flashing signs and Christmas decorations cause a third of motorists (32 per cent) to lose concentration while behind the wheel. And 41 per cent of these drivers confess to being distracted for up to 5 seconds – which equates to driving 15 car lengths at 30mph – two and a half times the stopping distance needed at this speed. At 60mph, this means drivers would find themselves travelling at least the length of a football pitch without their full concentration on the road.

Overall roadside distractions are pulling the attention of 83 per cent of UK drivers away from the roads, Privilege finds.

And it's male drivers who are most affected as one in five (22 per cent) confess to being captivated by scantily-clad women on adverts, compared to just one in ten female drivers by semi-naked male models (11 per cent).

As public spaces become cluttered with illuminating and moving visuals, 26 per cent of British drivers have been distracted by huge advertising hoardings, a fifth (21 per cent) by the new vehicle activated signs and 17 per cent by Christmas lights and decorations.

Dr Mark Young, an expert in transport ergonomics at Brunel University, said:
"While we currently know a lot more about in-vehicle distractions such as mobile phones than external distractors, there is a growing body of concern about the lack of any coherent strategy for arranging roadside furniture.

"Drivers' visual workload varies through the course of a journey, and at crucial times – negotiating a difficult roundabout, for example, there is a small but significant risk of distraction from novel stimuli like advertising. In fact, this risk is probably underestimated and we need to do more research on the possibility of excluding non-essential information when the driver is already busy dealing with the road.

Ian Parker, Managing Director of Privilege Insurance, said:
"It appears that the development of new technologies, products and advertising techniques is getting in the way of road safety. The implications of the increase in eye-catching roadside objects such as illuminating signs has not been monitored until today. Privilege is providing motorists with tips on how to concentrate while driving amid the increase in distracting objects."

To help drivers focus on the roads, relevant signs and drive as safely as possible, Privilege is providing drivers with the following tips and advice:

Try to take notice only of official signs and notices which are crucial for driving. Try saying them out loud as you pass them if it helps make you concentrate on them. If someone asks you what the last sign was, you should be able to tell them.

Constantly scan the road environment for other potential hazards. Don't let your vision wander off from the beaten track.

When you are stationary try to keep your gaze on the traffic in front – or any road signals. Listen to mid-paced music to relieve boredom, rather than allow your concentration to wander to roadside distractions.

Privilege specialises in offering highly competitive insurance for safe drivers, with a guarantee to beat fully comprehensive renewal quotes for any driver with 4 years+ no claims discount. For a competitive Privilege quote, telephone 0845 246 8336 or visit www.privilege.com.

Correspondence From The IRS - Yikes!

Correspondence From The IRS - Yikes!

It's a moment every person dreads. You pick up the mail and there is an envelope from the IRS. It's not a refund check. What do you do?

Don't Panic

Each year, the IRS sends out millions of "correspondence audits" to taxpayers to request payment of taxes, notify them of a change to their account or request additional information. These audits normally cover a very specific issue, often notifying you of additional small amounts of income for which you owe tax. Each letter and notice provides specific instructions explaining what you should do if action is necessary to satisfy the inquiry.

Most correspondence can be handled without calling or visiting the IRS. You simply follow the instructions in the letter and the matter is put to rest. Alternatively, you can contact the IRS to contest the matter. Simply call the telephone number indicated on the letter or write an explanation as to why you disagree. Make sure to include copies of any supporting documentation you want considered by the IRS. Typically, it will take the IRS between one and two months to respond. During the first quarter of the year, it can take two to three months.

Sometimes, the IRS sends a second letter or notice requesting additional information or providing additional information to you. Be sure to keep copies of any correspondence with your records. The IRS has been known to lose track of actions involving a taxpayer's account.<

Worse Case Scenario

Everybody has a few really bad days in his or her life. You know, the car breaks down, you spill coffee on your shirt while driving to work…you get notice of a full blown audit from the IRS. The first step you take should not be drinking to excess or driving for the border. You have rights when the IRS comes calling and one of them is particularly important.

Representation

You have the right to be represented by an accountant or attorney at your audit. Under no conditions should you even consider going to an audit by yourself. Doing so would be like throwing red meat to a lion. Instead, spend the money to get representation and let them handle the audit. In most cases, you won't even have to go to the audit.

Nightmarish tax audits are generally a thing of the past. A letter from the IRS should not cause you to faint. Usually, the news isn't that bad. If it is, hire representation and let them handle it.

Leadership And Team Management

Leadership And Team Management

Establishing An Appropriate Organisational Structure, by: considering the strategic direction and objectives of the organisation; considering the desired organisational culture; identifying the critical activity areas of the organisation; deciding on an appropriate organisational structure. This is an essential first step. Before any changes or new directions can be taken the leaders must decide on an organisational structure that will support the strategic direction being taken, and an organisational culture that they will be aiming to create. The management teams network that is then put in place will be compatible with the structure and contribute to developing the desired culture.

Deciding On A Management Teams Structure, by; planning a network of management teams to match the requirements identified in the previous activity; agreeing individual team structure; agreeing individual team objectives, roles, responsibilities, size, location, resource needs; identifying team member and team leader profiles for each management team. The planning undertaken here will provide the template for the new structure, when implemented. This planning is best carried out as a factual, needs based, exercise. The role of the team, and its objectives, should be allowed to dictate size, location, team leader and team member profiles. Resource implications should be dealt with after the structure has been agreed. Existing and potential personnel should be assessed against these only at the next stage, when the teams are populated. Option 1: Assessing Existing Teams, by: identifying existing management teams; analysing the objectives of existing teams; evaluating the performance of existing teams; evaluating the performance of individual team leaders; comparing each management team profile with the newly defined requirements. In many, if not most, organisations this will be necessary due to legislative constraints and-or ethical considerations. However, the existing teams are unlikely to be appropriate, other than in part, and the outcomes of this action will simply identify what are likely to be major gaps and changes that will need to be made, in order to match the new requirements. Option 2: Removing Existing Teams, by: removing the old structure completely. This option is the most effective, a total reengineering, but the most radical. If possible, this is the better option, as the organisation can make the changes required to most appropriately match the new strategic direction, and move forward unhindered by partially or wholly unsuitable management teams.

Implementing The New Management Teams Network, by: providing information about the changes to all affected - in most organisations this will mean at all levels and both internally and externally; selecting team leaders and team members; establishing the teams in their locations; training each team in its new role, responsibilities, objectives, and operational activities; providing appropriate resources for each team; launching the new network into active service . A critical stage, this needs to be managed as a major change activity, and as a major project. An executive level manager should be appointed to oversee the changes. Communication with all stakeholders, who will be many, at many levels, and both internal and external to the organisation, will need to be managed carefully.

Implementing A Management Team Performance System, by: designing a rigorous teams performance appraisal system; monitoring the performance of individual teams; taking appropriate corrective action where when necessary. Many organisations operate an effective employee appraisal system, but this usually only applies to operational employees and junior managers. Middle and Senior managers must also be appraised on a regular basis, ideally more frequently than operational employees, as the managers' actions usually have greater negative or positive impact. This line of thinking must also be applied to management teams, because of the degree of influence and impact of the team collective decisions and actions. The leaders of the organisation must be continuously aware of the performance levels of their management teams, and take action to maintain or raise that performance level as necessary. Implementing a performance appraisal and continuous improvement approach to the network of management teams is vital. In the early stages of the life of the teams the focus will be on awareness and understanding of the objectives of the team, and identifying training and development needs to support new or adjusted roles. As the team grows and matures, the monitoring will focus firstly on consistency of performance, and then on supporting a continuous improvement in that performance. At all stages in the life cycle of each team, performance appraisal must be a regular and visible process.

Network Review And Refresh, by: arranging regular reviews of the appropriateness of the management teams network; assessing the suitability of each part of the network against newer versions of the strategic objectives; assessing the structure of the network against the current organisational structure and culture; making appropriate changes to individual components and-or the overall structure of the network. A major review should be held every year, as a key part of the review and adjustment of strategies and objectives in the annual strategic planning process. At this review point minor or major changes should be agreed, to adjust the network so that it continues to match the requirements dictated by the refreshed strategic and operational objectives. In addition, the condition of the management teams network should be an agenda item on at least quarterly executive level meetings, where corrective action can be decided on where necessary.

In Summary: establishing a compatible management teams structure is an essential first step in ensuring that the organisation's strategies are implemented successfully. Without a robust network of management teams, appropriate to the size and complexity of the organisation and its strategic objectives, the strategic and operational objectives will not be achieved. Effective management teams are the driving force behind the achievement of objectives. This network cannot be successful if it is weak or flawed. It is the role of the leaders of the organisation to ensure that the management teams network is strong, dynamic, and focused on achieving its objectives, in its individual parts and collectively.

3 Questions To Ask Your Subprime Mortgage Broker

Subprime Mortgage Loans - 3 Questions To Ask Your Subprime Mortgage Broker

Subprime mortgage brokers offer a variety of mortgage loan packages from different lending companies. They can find financing for almost anyone, regardless of their credit score. Even though brokers offer a valuable service, you still need to ask questions to be sure you are getting the best deal.

1. What Is Your Fee?

Before you begin working with a subprime mortgage broker, ask how they are getting paid. Sometimes they charge you an upfront fee, other times they are paid by the mortgage company.

Upfront fees don't guarantee you the best deal, but they do reduce the broker's reliance on mortgage companies' fees. Instead of looking at who offers them the best payoff, they are looking at your interest.

Fees paid by the mortgage company can still mean you find a good deal. Most brokers are able to negotiate lower rates for you, so you still come out ahead. Using this type of broker also allows you to work with a couple of brokers, making sure you find the best deal.

2. What Are The Loans Fees?

Even when brokers present you with rate quotes, take the time to look at fees and points. The APR should include both the rates and fees. It is required to be disclosed before signing a contract so you can make a real comparison. Sometimes the lowest rate loan has the highest closing fees and isn't the best deal.

The rates presented to you are somewhat flexible. You can reduce them by paying more points or increasing your down payment. Points only make sense if you plan on keep the loan for a number of years.

3. Are There Early Payment Fees Or Other Clauses?

Also check for early payment or other fees. Subprime mortgages are often refinanced when your credit score improves. Check to see if you can pay a point to waive the early payment fee if you plan to refinance.

Some subprime lenders will automatically refinance your loan for better rates after two years. This can save you thousands on later refinancing costs. Just like any loan offer, check the rates with other packages.

The Weight Loss Program that's right for you

The Weight Loss Program that's right for you

An estimated 80 million Americans will go on diets this year. Some will succeed in losing their unwanted pounds but very few, perhaps 5 percent, will maintain their desired weight long term.

If you have ever surfed the net looking for a weight loss program that's right for you then you have no doubt been overwhelmed by the huge range of pills, potions, exercises and diets available. Which one do you choose? How do know if its going to work or that the secret ingredients are not sawdust and ground up egg shells. Yep, its scary but true! So much to consider and all you want to do is Loss Weight.

So what are the do's and don't s of Weight Loss Programs.

The Do's List:

1. If possible, it's best to go with a weight loss program that has been recommended by a friend or trusted source.

2. Check to see if it has the approval of Doctors and/or herbalists.

3. Look to see if the ingredients on supplements are listed.

4. Always go with a program that offers complete support.

5. Investigate any known side effects of supplements.

6. A good program should involve a well balanced diet.

The Don'ts List:

1. Never buy from spam mail offering unbelievable results. If it seems to good to be true it probably is.

2. Don't sign up for a long-term, big bucks program unless you're sure what you're in for. Check out what's being offered. It might not work for you at all.

3. Stay away from rapid weigh loss regimes. Losing weight too rapidly can be dangerous to your health.

Weight loss is such a huge market that it unfortunately attracts many unscrupulous profiteers. So how do you choose a program you feel comfortable with?

If you are going to spend good money on a weigh loss program it pays to choose wisley and personally I always prefer a recommendation over a cold hard sell any day.

ASP Hosting Simplified

ASP Hosting Simplified

ASP stands for Active Server Pages. It is a technology that enables users to design and creative interactive pages for their websites, using something called "server-side scripting". What do we mean by interactive? Forms, in-site search engines, blogs, user forums, newsletters, calendars, WhoIs searches, web-based email, polls, surveys, hit counters and more.

Best of all, with ASP, no longer do webmasters have to concern themselves with what browser a visitor to their site is using. With ASP hosting, your website will appear identically on all computers, on all browsers, a claim that HTML simply cannot make.

Anytime a browser requests a webpage that has the .asp extension where the more familiar .htm or .html would be, the hosting provider's web server interprets any ASP scripts in the program first and foremost, before delivering any HTML info to the browser. This is why you cannot simply run ASP websites with just any hosting company. The hosting company you choose must have servers that support ASP, or else the ASP scripts you use will be rendered useless.

When examining web hosting companies to find one that supports ASP, you must look specifically for ASP support. Do not simply assume that because a hosting company supports "most web-based scripts, from CGI to Perl" that it supports ASP. If it doesn't say so in an obvious place on the sales site, go to the hosting company's FAQ and look for ASP. And since most FAQs are searchable, this shouldn't be difficult to do. If you're really enamored with a particular hosting company (or their current promotion) but can find no information on ASP support, consider contacting them via email, telephone, or web chat to find out. It's possible that they do support ASP and just have a lousy sales site (which may be an indicator of an altogether different sort).

Microsoft brought ASP to the world, and as such provides the platform - Windows - on which ASP generally works best. In order to play around with ASP scripts on your web pages, you'll have to download and install onto your system an ASP server, like Microsoft's Internet Information Services (IIS) or Microsoft's Personal Web Server (PWS) -- one or both of which is included with most Windows packages for no extra charge. If you use Windows on your machine and have never encountered IIS or PWS, chances are it's because you have to "Add" the program to your hard drive using the Windows software CD-ROM or through your control panel, since it's often not included as part of the "Basic Install".

Incidentally, Windows ME and Windows XP Home Edition are lacking in support for ASP scripts. But we're willing to bet the forthcoming Windows Vista probably does.

For those webmasters on a PC that isn't Windows-based, all hope is not lost. Sun Microsystems has developed a program called Chili!Soft ASP that allows other servers -- such as Red Hat, Apache, and Secure Server -- and other operating systems -- such as Linux, Solaris, and AIX -- to support ASP hosting.

Writing and using ASP scripts is easy too -- at least it's no harder than HTML, with all commands occurring between "<%" and "%>;" instead of "<" and ">". Not so big a difference, is there? And you can find an abundance of software tools all over the web (many for free) that helps even the greenest novice create interactive web pages rife with ASP.

ASP is such a versatile language that more and more hosting companies are finding themselves compelled to add ASP support to their hosting packages just to remain competitive. This, of course, is only to your advantage as you can comparison shop around for the best ASP hosting offerings right alongside all the other features you're looking for.
